about

This track comes from the same sessions that produced my recent weird blues outings, and demonstrates my experiments in playing both inside and outside the blues at the same time. Everything is then put inside Derridean parantheses.

I use here the wonderful vocal loops of the Swedish singer Saltlakrits, or as I call her, Ulrika.
Her mysterious vamps naturally added other dimensions to these strange blues.

ok

Love Your Vibes!!!!! Nice sound! Wow! x

Blues drawn and quartered...signs and portents all through the entrails. .and Ulrika shines throughout. .brilliantly done
Ulrika, has just the sound I wanted to counter the twisted blues excess on this. She adds that 'dimenshion' she talks about in her oh-so Swedish accent

Whammy abuse is taken to a new level. .those zeroing notes are exquisite
The way the whammy is set up on my new Fender Strat is the best ever - it is just at the right point of balance [only a slight upbend] and very responsive. Also the arm is at a great angle [higher than usual] which allows plenty of play.

That descending quintuplet run was very special back there! Never heard that done by anyone before. ..Gonna try that when I'm back in the country
- I must say, it reminded me slightly of something the Mahavishnu Orchestra did, although that was unintentional. It's played on my black Epiphone Les Paul Studio - that's a guitar which may not seem special when you play it, but always sounds special when recorded.

A combination of those words..the concept of a cosmos self-reflecting on the horror of its nothingness. .and the sheets of wailing guitar sound..just a fantastic zone to be transported to!
- you always seem to grasp the "artist's intentions" so well. That's why I always look forward to your comments [and feel a bit crestfallen if you miss a track of mine!] No pressure then.

blues of the undead
: Even the undead have their blues! - thanks Jonathan

that time shifted guitar is a star
Just hit it right

More horn player than Hendrix here, but it fits very well.
- getting very stretched out on a Les Paul

There is a transhumanist and a voice in the woods, and I cannot tell where they will lead.
Fish out of water; back to being fish or willfully evolving into amphibians; so the transhumanist leads the human out of the woods of the human into the amphihuman, or else deeper into the woods. But the blues can't evolve man. That ain't blues.
When it evolves, you're a heretic and burned at the stake. Chicago boy checking in. :)

It is like a familiar fever dream, but I am fully awake and aware.
It plays on that ambiguity - is the dream reality and reality a dream - a dream within a dream ad infinitum? The familiar blues licks here are twisted by dream logic and weird sounds tempered.
Makes sense to me, but I am a twisted soul!

lyrics

Transhuman Blues

The Blues seeps and sifts through
Each crease and crevice of existence.

And man is so very insignificant in this cosmic play,

This cosmos, which weeps, and moans, as it
Reflects upon the warp and weft of its
Own Nothingness.
