Nine wells of weird

from King Chaos by Bill Boethius & Dali's Car

/

about

Longer piece using various guitar sounds and textures.

masterful .. You own your sonic world

This is very well staged.
: some fretless guitar lines on there - in fact it began as an improv on the fretless, but then lots of other stuff joined in

so perfectly mixed! these charcaters live!
: I did that trick again of putting some of the already recorded tracks back through the Kaoss pad, and then blending that with the non-Kaoss track - seems to add an extra dimension whenever i do that.

true sailing is dead!
: I'd like to hear Jim shouting his head off over this one!

what a wind chime!
: Combination of the mysterious Sakura rising sun guitar using the lip stick pick up, and the Ibanez jazz box 175

oh yeah... straight from the well!: ... and then straight to hell!

And it floats like a dream towards somewhere, but I can sense there's a drain a coming!
: ... it all goes down the drain eventually ... black hole awaits ....

Almost braying horses there!
: 'When the still sea conspires an armour, true sailing is dead ... awkward instant, and the first animal is jettisoned ... legs furiously pumping their soft green gallop ..." Horse Latitudes of course, thinking about Jimbo as he supposedly 'died' on July 3rd ... "go on Robbie, make your guitar sound like a horse!" Nay!
And then Mr. Kreiger made the band sound like an ass with the posthumous album. :)
Are you talking about An American Prayer, the poetry album?
No, the awfulness that is "Other Voices"
Glad you clarified that! Yeah, the albums they did without Jim. The poetry album was good because the poetry was good.

Reminds me of the old Slinky children's toy, falling down stairs and clanging away.
- that big spring which sloped around on furniture and stairs - I remembered it immediately - did I have one, or am I dreaming it ... a giant Slinky prowls around the derelict funhouse, wanting to get it on with the disused big wheel
s: In the US there were terrible commercials with jingles.

The broken machines still churn out mangled things at the automated factory, long after its masters are gone.
I like this parallel narrative - the machines taking on a life of their own seemingly as a parody of their former roles ... but a slightly sinister parody ... a macabre one; one doesn't know whether to laugh or shiver ... do both ... do both
Yea, it just feels like an empty factory still churning things out - like a post-industrial ghost town of the Old West, if the Old West had factories.

Welcome to the funhouse!
Yeah, quite right ... Iggy aside : "funhouse/ˈfʌnhaʊs/ noun (in an amusement park) a building equipped with trick mirrors, shifting floors, and other devices designed to scare or amuse people as they walk through. "

So masterful - love this Bill!

the chimes !!!
Yeah! Some lipstick pick ups involved there, they give a nice chimey sound
