Definitely a smoother side of Bill here, loving the crazy wetness of this one.
the splintered groove holds this one together, provides a handrail, the passage of time...hints of blues-jazz licks, nostalgic memories ...definite dream quality, unthreatening
... my stuff is like an enactment of a half forgotten scenario in a post apocalyptic world which could be an idyll or it could be a hell
nice jazzy start- a late night session!
yeah - come to think of it - I've listened to so much jazz ... and always at night ... I can listen to blues in the morning, but not jazz ...
:
inventive and inspiring stuff!
great bluesy-vibe into the unexpected

Surreal visual scaping, Bill..compelling!
Nice added drama from the additional Dean and super wah bursts..feeling the building intensity
Beautifully light and yet multi-layered. I get a strong nightscape feel, with multiple little narratives and movements
somehow a horn enters the stage
: that was my Dean guitar, if you are referring that passage where your commentis [I know the comments can sometimes get misplaced] - anyway, gives me an excuse to bore you with my eulogy for the Dean - a metal axe which actually feels very like a blues guitar - and really, Metal is just a mutant form of blues - look how the blues players were the first to use the guitars that metal players like - Albert King with the Flying V - Gatemouth Brown with the Firebird [I think] this Dean s like a hybrid of a V and an Explorer - and it gives out blues like nothing else
fabulous busted up blues quality
: actually this was a solo slide guitar blues piece which I posted last weekend, but I took it done after a few minutes as it wasn't ... interesting enough ... So around that slide guitar frame work I hung the rest of this, which is more interesting to me, but still has that delta blues underpinning
The line 'feathered night' is from a Jim Morrison poem. I must be rare amongst guitar players to be a Jim Morrison fan. Most musos don't like him - but I like Morrison the old blues man of Morrison Hotel and LA Woman, rather than the Lizard King - I like his poetry - I rate it.
- this piece, like some of my others is about communicating somehow with the birds - the Beefheartian Messiaen thing
Isn't it strange - I kept thinking about Zoot Horn Rollo these last few days - listening to Lick my Decals, and also Zoot's solo album, a Bozo Under the Sea - have you listened to that? It's quite incredible - he has gone into jazzy things, but still has a very strong Tele type sound
That is one guy who never rested on his laurels. I read his Lunar Notes too - quite riveting. Let's face it though - the Magic Band were brilliant and should have got the credit which was withheld by Don - but without Don they would never have played that way. Don was the evil catalyst, like Miles Davis
they come and gather
disparate flocks start to convene - , multi-directional - but they start to find a common cause
Liking this multi-directional journey. Great drum track. Brings it together nice.
Fire! Plumes of smoke rise from the nest.
nest is a good metaphor - and plumes too - great poetic response
Las Campanas !
bells and birds!
Crisp! Excellent sounds, marvelous VIBE!
I was looking at getting more space in between the sounds, so making the sounds more transparent and pellucid, rather than the usual thick and dark sounds I use
