about

Trippy, intense; analog and musique concrete with a vibe infusion
Crash landing in the birchwood of arctic circle ... mayday!

This track began with the Cream in mind, or rather Jack ... I had seen a clip of Jack Bruce jamming with Rory Gallagher on Politician, and I felt some melancholia due to these two men no longer walking the earthly plane. As I went inwards and transposed the riff and inverted it etc., on the bass, I overlaid a guitar with lots of delay [naturally].
I liked that and wanted to keep it just as two tracks. But then I got the cauldron out and started to put in various ingredients, more guitars, beats etc., where it no longer bore any resemblance to Politician.

But that bass part really stuck in there. At one point I reversed it to get a Chris Squire growl. I probably double tracked it too - one forgets these things. Improvised, all first takes ... and as it got to the point of completion I thought of the Doors ... and their line "we is stoned immaculate" - as with this piece, there are innocent beginning and then growing corruption - or Experience - I thought of Hendrix then [but I think of Hendrix every day] - and Blake - songs of innocence and experience ... each piece is a transition between the two ... but how about going the other way? Like backwards guitar a la Jimi. And Nietzsche teaches that - get back to the Child - Voodoo Chile.
The Cream, Doors, Hendrix - the are the ABC of Mr Tripps
