If you left acid on a spaceship! As always bad-assed, Bill :)

nice abstact sound!

Swords held high -An Aquilifer light before the Standard
Yes! you have the right era of this archaeological dig - it is Rome when she was on the march before the days of the Ceasars, before corruption took hold - but the seeds of corruption are always there. Listen to the chants at the finale - the praetorian guard chanting into their shields - conquest - hammer or anvil - AVE!

balanced chaos. I like the term "balanced chaos" - we always work in contradictions. This track was quite basic and then I added something like eight more guitar parts! I like listening to David Torn on solo guitar, but the painter in me needs an orchestra ...
... also, the piece was meant to be a ne plus ultra - light is deluging you at its zenith and you must carve it with your wand ... that's the image right there - taking on the overload and twisting it to your Will - it;s certainly a Nietzschean piece

slow molten light great image!
do you trigger drum sounds via keyboard/touchpad, or program them in some other way? (Sorry if I've asked you that before)
You have asked before - I'm not technical enough to do all that stuff, programming and so forth. I basically work like this: I play something purely improvised [could be drum machine, bass, guitar, synth etc.] I then think about it away from any sound sources. Then a play something else over it. I keep repeating this process and start editing at the same time. So I could have 15 minutes of guitar and leave only one lick on there. I often put drums on last. So I might have a drum pattern going for the whole length of the piece, and then chop most of it away and just put it where I think it sounds good [or not]. So there is a fair bit of Burroughs in there
Ah, cut-up. Thanks for answering (again). I want to find a way to loosen my use of drums. I am not very technically adept, myself, especially where electronic and digital drums are concerned. When I use them, I tend to get locked into "song" mode, but would like to find a way to use them in my more abstract or "visual" excursions.
Yeah - I have always hated them [drum machines] but then I thought - hang on, why do all that greats have drums?!? [like Cream] A good musician doesn't need a drummer, right? Ah, but drums give otherness and depth. That's why. So I suppose the approach should be more like percussion than drums. I treat the drum machine like an instrument, and so I treat it randomly and arhythmically. I change the tempo, slow down slightly, then speed up etc. - and overlay different patterns - experiment. I don't think about whether I'm playing in 6/8 or 11/8 - it is sheer percussion. There is a lot more that I could do with that drum machine thing, but it is essentially supportive ... oh yeah, and don't lock in with bass - everybody else dioes that! Hey, that's it - listen to what everybody else does, then do different ... joking aside - drums is depth, is all

Think the thing is everyone has them because they're supposed to have them, visual timekeeper of the easiest order. I've always rather just use my internal clock and some delays or percussive notes to do it.

a hint of the vocal - Yeah - some Nietzschean stuff that's just about there!
- the editing and production is just as important as the playing, if not more so. The title partly refers to that - the sounds are like light beams in myriad form which are then 'carved' to create a piece.

ZENITH ZONES
FREEZE FRACTAL
